WEDNESDAY around the WORLD: the KINDERGARTEN

Senza titolo-4 DSC_1192 DSC_1197

so… here we are… a new adventure has begun! Zoe Tiare started the kindergarten! i wasn’t prepared… i know that children have to grow at some point and we talked about the “school for big guys” (‘cause the one where Alma goes is for “little ones”…)… but still i wasn’t prepared. the first morning we stayed at the kindergarten for one hour, with her, watching her playing with new friends, exploring the new class, fighting with other children for a toy… the normal behavior for a kid. but the context was different! now she started a path of ‘schools’ (in italian kindergarten is scuola materna, and then we have scuola elementare – between 6 and 10 years old – scuola media – between 11 and 14 – and scuola superiore – between 14 and 18). now start even our commitments as parents: we already have responsabilities and commitments, but not as formal. from now on we will have meeting with teachers, christmas plays, school parties to organize and to attend… i loved the years i spent in the kindergarten and i really hope it will be the same for Zoe.

and i’m so proud to have sewn this two bags for Zoe, one for clothes and the other for towels.

  2. Aww, first days of school (and especially kindergarten!) are always bittersweet. We're all so excited and proud that they're growing up, yet a bit sad that they're growing up so fast. :)

  3. How wonderful that you remember the years you spent in Kindergarten. I hope Zoe will truly enjoy it too :)
I too can remember the 1st 2 "first days" from my daughters. We had a first day last week for my now pre-schooloer, and I guess there will be a few more firsts *sigh*...

  4. They do grow up and there's not much we can do about it--except take lots of pictures and makes lots of memories! She's so cute.
