“a portrait of my daughters, once a week, every week, in 2014”

Zoe Tiare: waking up, in the morning, is hard for everybody…!

Alma Aiko: where is my little baby?! you’re growing so stubborn, curious, funny… and definitely too fast!

WEDNESDAY around the WORLD: MY FIRST CHERRY MARMALADE.

my dad has a wonderful garden, half orchard and half vegetable garden. cherries this year were incredible and so so many!! so this time i decided to cook a marmalade. my very first one. and you know what? it’s so easy that i’m already thinking of an apricot one!

1 kg of fruit (cherries, apricots, peaches…)
300 gr of cane sugar
1 squeezed lemon

add the fruit cut in pieces with sugar and lemon and let it cooking gently, without stirring. after 40-45 minutes mix strongly and check if it’s ready by putting a teaspoon of marmelade in a dish and let cool. if it’s too liquid, boil it a little bit more.

1 kg di frutta (ciliegie, albicocche, pesche..)
300gr di zucchero di canna
1 limone spremuto

Alma Aiko: alone, for 20 seconds, with a tissue… and that’s the result!

no picture of Zoe Tiare this week, despite of all the time we spent together, just the two of us, for 2 reasons: she was more interested in taking picture than being the subject and i was too busy enjoying that time and taking pictures in my mind instead of using my camera…

WEDNESDAY AROUND the WORLD: alberobello.

DSC_5324 DSC_5254 DSC_5256 DSC_5258 DSC_5274
going to alberobello was a hard decision because it wasn’t exactly on our way back and we were tired… but it was worth it! this city is worldwide famous for the typical houses called trulli. if you have seen them just on a picture as i did, it’s kind of magic being surronded by them. the white is everywhere, with splash of blue borders for the windows and bright pink flowers. the people are so nice and they explain everything about the construction, the simbolism… even the church is in a trullo! (first picture). we bought amazing homemade stuff there and i can say with no doubt that that’s one of our favorite cities!
